Tyre size fitment guide
Reading your tyre size is simple!
Just check the sidewall of your tyre, and you’ll see a set of numbers like this:
Example: 195/55 R16 87V
Here’s what it all means:
- 195 – Tyre width (in millimetres)
- 55 – Aspect ratio (sidewall height as a percentage of width)
- R – Radial construction
- 16 – Wheel diameter (in inches)
- 87 – Load rating (how much weight the tyre can carry)
- V – Speed rating (maximum speed your tyre can handle safely)

Worn Tyres = A Big No-No!
Those groovy tread patterns (called sipes) aren’t just for show—they’re designed to:
- Boost off-road grip for 4×4 tyres
- Improve traction on passenger tyres
- Evacuate water in wet conditions to prevent hydroplaning
Remember: The legal minimum tread depth is 1mm—anything less is a safety hazard!
Tyre Pressure Matters!
Keeping your tyres properly inflated improves safety, performance, and fuel efficiency.
Underinflation:
- Increases blowout risk
- Causes faster wear & higher fuel consumption
Overinflation:
- Reduces road contact for uneven tread wear
- Impacts handling & braking
Check your vehicle’s manual for the correct tyre pressure—it varies if your car is loaded or empty!
Why Inflate with Nitrogen?
